Evening Car Parking Charges In Kingston To Rise By 50%

Evening off-street parking charges in Kingston town centre are set to rise by 50% this month.

From November 25, charges after 6:30pm in seven main car parks will increase from £2 to £3.

A Kingston Council spokesperson defended the decision and said: “Car parks now have live monitored CCTV throughout and more patrols. Costs money but safety and peace of mind for users [is a] priority.”

The parking department also attempted to justify the increase by saying that they “haven’t put it up in ages.”

The affected car parks will be Ashdown Road, The Bittoms, Canbury Place, Cattle Market, Neville House, Thameside and The Rose.
