Teen among six charged with attempted murder after New Malden shooting

A 17-year-old boy is among six people who have been charged with attempted murder following the shooting of a man in New Malden last month.

On February 10, the 28-year-old was found on Newhouse Close with a gunshot wound to the chest and was taken to hospital in a critical condition. However, the Metropolitan Police have now said that his injuries are no longer considered to be life-threatening.

Amadou Bah, 18, of Caverleigh Way, Worcester Park, Naomi Conteh, 18, of Dorking Close, Worcester Park, and 18-year-old James White of Russell Road, Mitcham, were charged on February 14. In addition to attempted murder, the three were charged with attempted robbery and possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

In the weeks since, Neil Jackson, 20, of Aldrington Road, Streatham, Joshua Bowman, 18, of Glebe Court, Mitcham, and the 17-year-old have been charged with the same offences.

All six are due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 16 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
