London’s Deputy Mayor Sees How Kingston Is Kept Safe

Kingston Councillor Liz Green and Borough Police Commander Superintendent Glenn Tunstall showed Stephen Greenhalgh, London Deputy Mayor for policing and crime, how Kingston is kept safe.

According to Kingston Council, crime in Kingston fell by 12.5 per cent in the last year. Kingston is said to be the safest borough in London.

Mr Greenhalgh said: “Like the rest of London, Kingston has seen dramatic falls in crime in recent years.”

Ms Green and Mr Tunstall are members of the Safer Kingston Partnership, in which different parties, for example the council, the police and local businesses, work together to ensure Kingston’s safety.

Ms Green said: “The Safer Kingston Partnership works hard with residents and businesses to agree priorities and to make the best use of our powers and resources.”

The latest police crime rate statistics confirm a crime drop in Kingston in March 2013, compared to March 2012.
