Kingston celebrates International Women’s Day

The Inner Wheel, a club that has worked on projects and has encouraged members to meet up for social events, for International Women’s Day hosted an all women’s talk to acknowledge the wonderful achievements made by local women.

This ranged from the establishment of a community choir promoting the voices of abuse and violence survivors, to the creation of multiple villages in Sudan to help those, in particular women, who faced hardship following the collapse of the healthcare system over the last years.

This was one of numerous events that occurred throughout the week attended by the Mayor of Kingston to showcase and celebrate the hard work done throughout the year to improve gender equality within Kingston.

Have a watch.
