A project called Kingston Outreach has been helping locals in need by providing a food bank and hot food service since March, when lockdown first began.

Kingston Outreach is an initiative set up by the charity Muslim Outreach which received donations from mosques and individual donors.

Run by local resident Bilal Ahmad, volunteers meet up every Saturday to package and distribute food boxes to anyone who needs it.

The food bank is located on 43 Acre Road, and people can come along on Saturday afternoons until December 26.

Food vouchers for ordering food to your home, if you are self-isolating or shielding, can be obtained from the Job Centre or GP surgeries in the area.

You can also contact Kingston Outreach directly by calling the team on 07340734224 or visiting their website kingstonoutreach.org.
