Five things to do in and around Kingston this Christmas  

December is here and lots of us are starting to get into the Christmas spirit. There are plenty of activities on offer and no need to travel far.

Christmas card craft at Kingston Library 

If you are looking for something creative to do with the children this Christmas, Kingston Library is inviting you to join them for a Christmas card crafting workshop on December 16, between 10:00am and 11:30am.  

The event is completely free and is best for children between 5-11 years old. 

Santa’s Grotto Fenwick, Kingston  

The local Fenwick in Kingston is hosting a Santa’s Grotto until Christmas Eve on December 24. 

The Grotto is on the third floor with elves welcoming you and singing reindeer. 

Tickets are £12.50 each for adults and children and opening times vary between 9:00am and 6:00pm depending on which day you go. 

Ice skating at Hampton Court Palace  

If you are feeling adventurous this Christmas season, Hampton Court Palace is hosting its annual ice rink, open now until January 7, 2024. 

The ice rink is in front of Henry VIII’s Palace and has an onsite café and bar for festive refreshments. 

Prices are £19 for an Adult and £14 for children between three and 12 years old.  

It is open from 10:00am to 20:45pm with a skating session of 45 minutes. 

Christmas at Kew Gardens 

Kew Gardens annual Christmas at Kew event is open until January 7, 2024. 

The event includes a light trail with hot food and sweet treats, on offer along the route. 

Ticket prices are between £22.50 to £29.00. It opens at 4:20pm and the last entry is 10:00pm.  

Kingston Christmas Market

Finally, In the heart of Kingston itself is the Kingston Christmas Market with plenty of market stalls, bars, food and entertainment open until December 31.  

With activities like Bavarian Christmas curling and stalls supplying mulled wine and different foods, it’s one of the most magical Christmas markets in London. 

The market is free however you do have to book curling on the website. There is also a schedule for the performance stage so you can see what is on each day.  

Opening times at the market vary between 10:00am and 6:00pm on a weekday and close slightly later at 8:00pm on weekends, with the entertainment finishing around 10:00pm.
