Dragon boat crew for breast cancer survivors wants new members

There are almost 56,000 new cases of breast cancer each year in the UK, according to Cancer Research UK.

A 2022 paper reported that physical activity can reduce breast cancer recurrence and mortality in diagnosed patients by 23%.

Since the first breast cancer survivor dragon boat team Abreast in a Boat launched in Canada in 1996, there are now hundreds of teams paddling all over the world.

Numerous studies report that this repetitive, upper body resistance exercise leads to significant improvements in health-related quality of life.

Local survivors may therefore be pleased to hear that Wraysbury-based dragon boat crew for breast cancer survivors Hurricane Paragons is looking for new members.

All are welcome though you must be at least three months post-treatment.
