The creative industry can be a daunting place for many young creatives. Competition with established artists and funding are just some of the hurdles which faces them. However, these obstacles can be overcome with networking and collaboration.
The organisation Creatives for Culture (C4C) hopes to help young artists using through these methods. Founder Shanti Rai, who has eight years of experience in film postproduction, believes networking can help artists “connect, collaborate and push each other forward”.
To promote these values, C4C hosts many events, including Create Community, which this year was open to the public for the first time, taking place in Kingston’s new creative space, FUSEBOX.
Taking place on the 14 April, this event highlighted the benefits of collaborations for young creatives across all artistic mediums.
