Alex Approves: Pubs

Are you tired of staring at the same four walls whilst you sup on your pint? In need of fresh inspiration for those life-changing pub chats?

Don’t worry, help is at hand. Here is a list of five of the best pubs in Kingston. All that’s left is for you to go to the bar and order your favourite tipple.

The Berrylands
107 Chiltern Drive, Berrylands, KT5 8LS
Arguably the diamond of the Berrylands area, The Berry offers a wide range of drinks and a superb food menu all at a reasonable price. It opts for a large, open twist on the classic pub feel and has all the comforts of live music, a regular pub quiz, pool tables and darts.

The Ram
34 High Street, Kingston-upon-Thames, KT1 1HL
If you like having the option of inside or outside seating, then The Ram boasts this aplenty. Situated by the river, there is no better setting for a pint in Kingston town centre. Despite perhaps being on the more expensive range of the pub scale, its impressive range of drinks and grand décor more than makes up.

Woody’s Free House
The Sportsground, Thetford Road, New Malden, KT3 5DX
If you are looking for an extensive and ever-changing ale list then this is the pub for you. You can happily take a sip from your pint whilst gazing at the plethora of football memorabilia on the walls. It also manages to squeeze in a Sunday carvery to boot.

The Swan Inn
22 High Street, Hampton Wick, KT1 4DB
If you like to drink in Tudor-looking buildings then The Swan Inn is the place to be. With food prepared by a trained chef and an impressive selection of ale and lager, it manages to strike the balance between traditional pub feel and the 21st century.

The Forester’s
45 High Street, Hampton Wick, KT1 4DG
Offering a modern British food menu and a drinks list containing real ale and premium lager, The Forester’s manages to retain the traditional pub feel. However the additional beauty of this pub is that it has a vast collection of board games to play. Anyone for Hungry Hippos?
