THE KINGSTON Samaritans has launched a fundraising campaign to raise £105,000 to help them move into a new building.
The local branch of the helpline, who provide free support to those in need, are set to move to Wheatfield Way, Kingston, later this year.
Currently in Surbiton, they need over £100,000 to refurbish the new location.
Branch director Helen Dixon, speaking to the Surrey Comet, said: “The demand on our service is growing and from our new premises we will be able to reach out to more people.
“But we urgently need funds to help make this move a success in supporting those in distress.”
A spokesman for the charity added: “We do not just support those who are feeling suicidal. Anyone who is distressed and struggling to cope can contact us.
“We are here round the clock every single day, including on our freephone number 116 123.”
The campaign has already raised £14,000 of its target. You can donate to the Samaritans ahead of their move online.
