50,000 people attend climate march in London

On Sunday afternoon, a huge climate protest took place in the streets of London before the crucial Paris climate talks to demand action from governments.

The Paris climate talks will last from November 30 to December 12 with more than 50 countries meeting for United Nations’ talks about rising temperatures and shifting the world to 100% renewable energy.

Protesters were shouting “We need 100% clean energy” and “stop funding fossil fuels” while marching in the rainy streets of London.

One of the protesters said: “We have to take care of our planet and it is an important message to get out to the world. We have to act now.”

The organisers of the march told the BBC that about 50,000 people gathered to walk from Hyde Park to Whitehall. Some of them were even dressed as polar bears, giraffes, and bees, and some were wearing crowns.

People in over 175 countries gathered together in big cities to demand that governments take action to save our planet.

A lot of people were also tweeting from the march marking the importance of the issue and posting pictures from the march.
