Kingston Green Radio celebrates birthday with live events

Local station Kingston Green Radio is turning 12 this year and is celebrating with topical debate and discussion events live on air this week.

The successful independent station has been bringing you music, leading the green conversation and giving a voice to the Kingston community since it was founded by Sam Harrington in 2007.

With sustainability deeply entrenched in their ethos, an environmental debate is a fitting choice for their first live event this week. Listen to a panel of high-profile politicians discuss the most important environmental and sustainable issues facing our world today on Wednesday 6 March from 7pm.

The Great Green Debate is held live at the Kingston Environment Centre and hosted by Radio Jackie and Kingston Green Radio’s Henry Riley. Hear the likes of Seb Dance MEP, Jean Lambert MEP, Sarah Olney and Cllr Aphra Brandreth add to the debate.

Listen to the event on Kingston Green Radio or watch the livestream on Facebook.

The second event of the week is a female-led panel discussion on International Women’s Day where you can hear empowered women discuss the barriers they face today.

Also held at the Kingston Environment Centre and hosted by Jean Vidler MBE, the live event will be broadcast on Kingston Green Radio and on Facebook from 6.30pm on Friday 8 March.

Tune in to an inspirational discussion by a panel of strong women including candidate for Mayor of London Siobhan Benita, Michelle Akintoye BEM, Deborah Walls and Kingston Council leader Cllr Liz Green, and hear them share their experiences.
