Every third Saturday of the month, Maple Road in Surbiton becomes a hive of activity as locals come down to spend some quality time at Surbiton Farmers’ Market.
Since 2009, the market has promoted local businesses and producers selling everything from gourmet and homemade preserves and delectable cakes to patisseries.
At its core, the market is a community initiative driven by dedicated volunteers with all profits going to charity. To date, more than £100,000 has been donated to local charities and good causes.
In 2013, the market won Farmers’ Market of the Year in the National Farmers’ Retail and Markets Association (FARMA) awards and is listed by Time Out as one of London’s best farmers’ markets.
