Kingston Voluntary Action awarded Covid-19 grant

Kingston Voluntary Action (KVA) has been awarded a £100,000 grant from the National Lottery Community Fund for residents affected by Covid-19.

KVA is an umbrella organisation for voluntary and community organisations in the borough of Kingston.

The funds will be allocated by KVA through an application process to organisations that need help to overcome financial difficulties.

Many people across the borough have faced challenges due to the pandemic.

The programme aims to help those that are more at risk from the impact of Covid-19.

KVA said it was particularly interested in hearing from smaller organisations and those working with groups such as LGBTQ+ or Black and Minority Ethnic communities, disabled people, and carers.

The first round of grants will be from £2,500 to £5,000 for any not-for-profit organisation with an annual income of less than £250,000.

The grants will be offered to help with any project costs, salaries and overheads.

The closing date for round one is February 12 2021.

The second round of grants will offer up to £10,000 and organisations can apply from February 8 2021.
