On February 22 2021, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that outdoor sports would be permitted to return on March 29.
This means that sports clubs, including netball clubs, can resume training sessions and matches as long as they maintain social distancing and other Covid-safe practices.
Laura Grant, who operates a netball youth club called Mini Netters, said: “The girls are really excited about this; it is so important to get the girls back and playing again.”
During the multiple lockdowns over the past 12 months, Grant had to find creative ways to keep members engaged and interested in netball.
These included setting fun weekly challenges, uploading at-home training sessions on YouTube and, more recently, carrying out one-to-one training sessions.
She said: “The girls loved the one-to-one sessions; they sold out immediately.
“It was a great way to ensure development in a Covid-safe manner.”
