DIY store offers £1,000 boost to Kingston community

A DIY store has offered a £1,000 boost to the Kingston community as it prepares to open a new local branch next month.

Leyland SDM has invited Kingston’s charity and community groups to apply for a chance to win one of two prizes of £500-worth of store credit to assist in any project.

Marketing director Paul Gerreli said: “Many groups have gone through – and continue to go through – extremely tough times this year and we want to provide our support to the communities in which we operate.”

Leyland has extended its Give London A Lift campaign to Kingston to mark the launch of its new local branch which will open November 14 on London Road.

Applications must be submitted online at https://leylandsdm.co.uk/give-kingston-a-lift.

The winning groups can spend their store credit on Leyland’s range of household DIY, painting, decoration and construction materials and tools.

Expansion during Covid-19

Leyland SDM has 23 stores in London and until now has traditionally kept its new store openings to high streets in the capital.

Despite these uncertain times, Gerreli said Leyland is excited to be expanding into a new area.

“We have seen a real upsurge in people carrying out DIY projects during the pandemic and we are looking forward to supporting Kingston people in their home improvements over the coming weeks and months,” he said.

To this end, Leyland has offered a 10 per cent discount on all products in the first opening week of its Kingston store and will provide free delivery within two miles of the branch at all times.

Opening times for the new branch will be 7am-6pm Monday to Friday, 7.30am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sundays.
