16-year-old charged with murdering Afghan teenager in Twickenham

A 16-year-old from Hammersmith & Fulham has been charged with the murder of 18-year-old Afghan refugee, Hazrat Wali, who was stabbed to death on a playing field in Twickenham last Tuesday.

The Metropolitan Police said he was charged on October 15. He appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court the following day and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on October 19.

Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are still investigating.

The police are asking anyone who has information or footage of the incident to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting reference 5697/12OCT.
