Members of the Sunflower Streets Residents Association (SSRA), Tricorn Residents Association (TRA) and volunteers took part in the Great British Spring Clean in March with a litter pick in Fairfield Park.
The Great British Spring clean is the country’s biggest environmental campaign to keep community spaces clean and tidy.
They collected six bags of rubbish, including three that were recycling. After the event the organisers separated recyclable and non-recyclable waste to help the environment.
Suzanne Seyghal, secretary of SSRA, and Martin Bates, Chair of TRA, organise litter pick events throughout the year along with other community events and environmental initiatives.
The next litter pick event will be Saturday May 18 at Fairfield Park.
