Kingston College hosts open day this Wednesday 

The College will open their doors for future students on 12 March.

Kingston College (KC), on Kingston Hall Road, will host an open day this week, giving parents and children the opportunity to discuss course options with tutors, meet student ambassadors, hear from the head and meet career adviser.  

Sarah Griffiths, a parent of one of the Kingston college students, praised the school. 

She said: “My son did his mechanic course at KC. He was very well supported. I couldn’t recommend it enough.” 

The college offers A-level+ studies, a combination of an A-level subject and vocational course. 

This is to allow students to explore a subject academically whilst simultaneously having the chance to get hands-on experience in their desired field of work. 

A level+ subjects on offer include: Architecture, Criminology, Journalism, Law and Humanities and Performing Arts. 

Kingston College also provides 37 stand alone vocational courses for students to pick from which range from level 1, 2 and 3.  

Pass Rates 

According to the South Thames Colleges group, KC maintained a pass rate of over 90% in 2024. 

50% of students achieved at least three distinctions in their B-Tech studies which is equivalent to three As at A-level.

Encouraging adult study

Adult courses offered by the college include: Art and design, childcare and early years, English, Health and Social care and Law and Legal Secretarial. 

Data collected by Ofsted shows that the number of adults aged 19 and over studying at Kingston College rose by 39% between 2016 and 2024

Kingston College students have recommended Kingston College 

Current student Corbell Amoafo said about studying locally: “I recommend Kingston College because the environment is nice. There is a media room with table tennis and music. 

“I think the teaching is good. There is a lot of guidance here and I’m confident in passing,” he said. 

The open day starts at 4.30pm and ends at 6.30pm.
