An offer of free food for New Malden residents was made possible by community campaigner James Giles.
Aldi, Waitrose and Tesco donated food, which would have been wasted, to Save the World Club.
The produce was then passed onto Giles to distribute.
“People have got extraordinary circumstances and are struggling,” he said, referring to Covid-19.
Giles oversaw a strict one-in one-out policy to the garden, to ensure social distancing.
