The Community Brain charity has released a new book telling the stories of the local figures behind the iconic Mini Cooper and historic feats in motorsports in Speed and Suburbia: Cooper, Brabham and Campbell in Kingston.
The book launch took place at the Charles Ivey Garage, the site of the former Cooper Car Company Garage, where John Cooper designed the Mini.
The book was a collaboration between the Community Brain, students from Kingston University’s publishing department, curators of the British Motor Museum and friends of Cooper, Brabham and Campbell to tell their stories.
The Community Brain is a non-profit organisation focused on using art, local history and community-led initiatives to give places renewed importance and pride.
