Thousands protested the UK’s withdrawal from the EU on Saturday as Theresa May prepared to trigger Article 50 and begin the formal process of leaving.
Police cordoned off the route which took the protesters from Park Lane to Westminster where they listened to a number of speeches, including one from former Liberal Democrat leader and Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
“I hope it will just show that not everybody is for Brexit,” said protester Tae Chisholm.
The protest continued despite a terror attack at Westminster last Wednesday which left four people dead.
“A lot of people are bearing in mind what happened last week but I think they felt, like everything else, that we mustn’t let that stop us carrying on our lives,” Chisholm said.
