It has been a strange year for the world and it has been no different for the music industry. However, the tough times still gave us some great music.
Research released this week has revealed how little income musicians get from streaming services. The survey, carried out by the Musicians’ Union (MU) and The Ivors Academy, showed that 82 per cent of respondents earned less than £200 a year from streaming, despite the fact that some had millions of plays.
This year has not exactly been the best year for, well, anything really. However, the music industry, despite everything, has had artists producing some incredible songs to lift our spirits.
Britain has many traditions around Christmas. Turkey and pigs in blankets for dinner, the John Lewis advert and having a drink before midday on Christmas Day are all things synonymous with this time of year.
