A 22-year old man appeared in court this morning charged with the murder of Jamie Sanderson at Kingston’s Oceana nightclub last Thursday morning.
Ashley Milne, of Haslam Street, Peckham appeared before South Western Magistrates’ Court charged with the stabbing of the 20-year-old. He is due to appear at the Old Bailey at the end of the month.
A second man was also arrested last night in connection with the crime and is currently being held in custody in North London.
Mr Sanderson died in the early hours of Thursday morning after suffering a fatal stab wound during a student foam party. Mark Lawson, Acting Detective Chief Inspector, said: “This incident took place in the vicinity of the ground floor cloakroom toilets.”
Kingston’s nightlife is an issue for policing, with up to 6,000 people leaving night clubs and bars between the hours of 2am and 4am.
Mr Sanderson was killed at student night ‘Fuzzy Logic’ at roughly 3.30am. Police are asking for anyone with information about the event to come forward.
